BREAKING NEWS: Live from Fabrizio Romano—Victor Osimhen’s move to Manchester United is 95% complete! ❤️ Ruben Amorim’s side have agreed to trigger his €75 million release clause, which Napoli officially confirmed today.

In a major transfer development, Manchester United are on the verge of signing Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen from Napoli. According to renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the deal is “95% done,” with the Red Devils set to activate his €75 million release clause, a move now confirmed by Napoli.

Osimhen, 26, has been one of Europe’s top strikers, renowned for his finishing ability, speed, and aerial dominance. Since joining Napoli from Lille in 2020 for around €70 million, he has scored 67 goals in 117 appearances, playing a crucial role in Napoli’s Serie A title-winning campaign in 2022-23. His performances have attracted interest from top European clubs, but Manchester United now appear to have secured his signature.

The road to this transfer has been eventful. In September 2024, Napoli lowered Osimhen’s release clause to €75 million, making him a more accessible target for elite clubs. He then spent a season on loan at Turkish side Galatasaray, with the club covering his €6 million salary. However, with no purchase option in place, Napoli retained control over his future, leading to United’s decisive move.

United’s need for a world-class striker has been well-documented, with manager Ruben Amorim emphasizing the importance of strengthening the attack. Osimhen’s arrival would fill that gap and underline the club’s ambitions to compete for major titles.

Excitement is already building among Manchester United fans, with many hailing Osimhen as the final piece in their attacking puzzle. The prospect of him linking up with Bruno Fernandes and Jadon Sancho has supporters eagerly anticipating his impact on the Premier League.

Despite the enthusiasm, the deal comes with its challenges. Financial Fair Play regulations and budget constraints have played a role in negotiations, making this transfer a complex one. However, with Osimhen’s contract running until 2026 and his release clause now met, United are in pole position to complete the signing.

As final details are ironed out, the football world awaits official confirmation. If completed, Osimhen’s transfer could be one of the standout moves of the summer, potentially reshaping Manchester United’s attack and their aspirations for success.
