Manchester United has been drawn against Real Sociedad in the UEFA Europa League quarter-finals following this morning’s draw at UEFA’s headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland. The first leg is set for March 6, 2025, at Old Trafford, with the return fixture at Reale Arena on March 13, 2025.

Real Sociedad enters the matchup as one of the tournament’s most in-form teams, having demonstrated impressive tactical strength and attacking prowess. Their dominant performances against top opposition make them a formidable challenge for Rúben Amorim’s squad.

Adding to United’s concerns is the injury to Amad Diallo, who suffered a serious ankle issue in training and is expected to miss the rest of the season. His absence is a major blow to the team’s attacking options. Manager Rúben Amorim acknowledged the setback, stating, “Amad’s injury is a significant setback for us. His contributions on the field have been invaluable, and his absence will be felt. However, we have a squad capable of stepping up, and we will approach the upcoming fixtures with determination.”

The combination of a tough draw and Diallo’s injury has sparked concern among Manchester United supporters, with many voicing their worries on social media.

Despite these challenges, the quarter-final clash promises to be an exciting battle, as both teams aim to advance and strengthen their bid for European silverware.
