Liverpool show no signs of easing up in the transfer market as they prepare for a major summer overhaul.

With the €35 million signing of Dutch right-back Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen nearing completion, the club is now lining up an ambitious £170 million splurge on three more key targets as new manager Arne Slot begins assembling his squad for the 2025/26 campaign.

Frimpong is expected to be the first arrival under Slot, but the incoming boss—working in tandem with a revamped recruitment setup—is already laying the groundwork for further reinforcements.

Sources indicate that Liverpool are targeting a central midfielder, a versatile attacker, and a left-footed centre-back—each seen as vital to Slot’s tactical system.

One of the key midfield targets is Atalanta’s Teun Koopmeiners.

Valued at approximately £50 million, the Dutch international is praised for his energy, passing, and footballing IQ, and would complement the current midfield trio including Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai.

In attack, Liverpool are eyeing PSV winger Johan Bakayoko. The Belgian talent has drawn widespread attention across Europe, and the Reds are prepared to bid over £40 million to bring him to Anfield, adding depth and versatility to the frontline.

On the defensive end, Sporting CP’s Gonçalo Inácio remains high on the list. The 22-year-old ball-playing centre-back has a £51 million release clause and fits the mold of the modern defender Liverpool are seeking.

If all deals are finalized, including Frimpong’s, Liverpool’s summer spending could top £200 million.

The club is clearly backing Arne Slot to reshape the squad and mount a serious title challenge, while also returning to Champions League contention.

A bold new chapter is unfolding at Anfield—driven by major investment and a clear strategic direction.
