One of Liverpool’s upcoming opponents may face a setback in their match against Jurgen Klopp’s team.

Everton’s recent 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest was marred by a controversial tweet from the Midlands club regarding the officiating and a concerning head injury to Everton striker Beto.

The forward, who earns £50,000-per-week, was taken off on a stretcher during added time after a severe collision with Morgan Gibbs-White. Goodison Park fell silent as Beto received eight minutes of on-field treatment.

According to Liverpool World, Sean Dyche’s team is waiting for a medical assessment to determine if the 26-year-old sustained a concussion.

FA guidelines require a four-stage recovery process, each needing a minimum of 24 hours, before being cleared to play again.

So, if Beto is diagnosed with a concussion from the incident, he will miss the Merseyside derby on Wednesday.

Considering Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s injury history and Everton’s need for eight more points to secure their Premier League status, Beto’s absence would be a significant blow for the team.

While Beto has scored five goals in 35 appearances for Everton, most of these have been as a substitute, and his physical presence at 6 foot 4 could trouble Liverpool’s defence if he were to play in the derby.

However, the player’s health and safety are paramount, and no risks can be taken with potential concussions.

We hope Beto’s injury isn’t severe and he can return to play soon, pending the diagnosis from the collision at Goodison Park.
