Liverpool Confirm New Deal and Loan Move for Harvey Davies
Liverpool have officially announced that young goalkeeper Harvey Davies has signed a new contract with the club and will spend the 2025/26 season on loan at Crawley Town.
The 20-year-old, who’s been with the Reds since his U9 days, is set for another year in League Two following a successful loan spell at Crewe Alexandra, where he made 32 appearances across all competitions last season.
Highly regarded as one of the standout prospects from Liverpool’s Academy, Davies was first named in a senior squad for a Champions League fixture against RB Leipzig back in 2021.
Since then, he’s been involved in 18 senior matchday squads and has gained valuable experience training with the first team.
Journalist James Pearce previously reported that Davies had signed a new deal, and the club clearly sees him as a player with long-term potential.
Loan Move Balances Development and Value
This latest loan serves two purposes: giving Davies another chance to get regular first-team minutes, and protecting his long-term value to Liverpool.
“Harvey Davies has signed a new contract with Liverpool FC and joined Crawley Town on loan for the forthcoming season,” the club confirmed on their official site.
The move follows significant changes in the goalkeeping department this summer. Caoimhin Kelleher has joined Brentford in a permanent deal, while young Hungarian keeper Armin Pecsi has arrived as part of Liverpool’s long-term strategy in goal.
With Vitezslav Jaros also heading out on loan to Ajax, competition among Liverpool’s young keepers remains intense.
Davies’ loan to Crawley will give him another full season of senior football, which could position him to challenge for a backup spot at Anfield in the future.
In the meantime, his focus will be on building momentum and continuing his development in a competitive setting—something Crawley Town looks well-equipped to provide.
