Nearly 72 hours after the game, the repercussions of Liverpool’s controversial loss to Tottenham Hotspur are still being felt.

The errors that led to Luis Diaz’s goal being ruled offside are still being investigated, and as a result, VAR Darren England and assistant VAR Dan Cook will not be participating in the upcoming Premier League games.

Liverpool will listen to the audio of the conversations between referee Simon Hooper and the VAR team at Stockley Park that were provided by the PGMOL, the organization that regulates referees.

Liverpool underlined their concerns about how athletic integrity was being “undermined” in a forceful statement on Sunday, and they said they intended to look into all of their options for resolving the situation.

Liverpool, though, is not requesting a rematch of the game. Despite the debate, they accept the outcome—a 2-1 loss. Their main goal is to conduct an open examination of the administrative mistakes that had place.

They want to know how the study will be conducted, who will supervise it, and what part the Premier League will play in it. The audio recordings need to clarify why Diaz’s goal was overturned so quickly and why there wasn’t a correction when the error was discovered.
