Kaide Gordon is dealing with a fresh ailment after making his first appearance in 19 months, but there is some good news mixed in.

Despite the club losing 4-1 to Middlesbrough, Gordon made his eagerly awaited comeback to action for Liverpool earlier this month when he came off the bench in a U21 match.

His current ailment is not thought to be significant, according to club insiders. Even so, the player must definitely find it frustrating because they have spent a lot of time away from the field.

After making a promising debut for the first team and becoming Liverpool’s youngest-ever goal scorer in the FA Cup, Gordon was unable to participate in the game. His senior debut, which he started in a 3-0 League Cup triumph over Norwich, took place two years ago on this Thursday. His four senior appearances to date, though, haven’t been enough to propel him on.

His inclusion in the extended squad for the Europa League group stage is evidence that Liverpool continues to have faith in the youthful potential. Gordon has signed up for the competition’s List B, which enables any number of players under the age of 21 as long as they have been a part of the team for at least two years.

He was also chosen to the Champions League squad for the previous season’s knockout rounds, but a longer-than-expected rehabilitation period prevented him from being included in the matchday squad.

Twelve players in total, including goalkeeper Marcelo Pitaluga, were registered via List B, with the list also comprising players like Stefan Bajcetic and Harvey Elliott.
