A defender for Chelsea, Marc Cucurella, now faces expulsion as a result of his failed transfer to Manchester United.
According to the Evening Standard, Trevoh Chalobah and Marc Cucurella may face discrimination at Stamford Bridge.
According to the same report, the 25-year-old’s loan to United during the summer transfer window was unsuccessful, placing him in an unfavorable circumstance at Chelsea.
Ben Chilwell has been Chelsea’s first-choice left-back since joining the squad in 2020, and Mauricio Pochettino has retained Cucurella on the bench even though he isn’t currently playing there.
Cucurella has been starting Chilwell further ahead of him and substituting Levi Colwill at left-back to highlight how far from his manager’s ideals he currently is.
It’s improbable that Marc Cucurella will suit up for Chelsea this year.
Cucurella, who cost Chelsea more than £60 million, would not be a surprise if Pochettino started leaving him out of the matchday squad.
The former PSG and Tottenham Hotspur boss has Ian Maatsen in addition to Chilwell and Colwill, both of whom can play left-back, as was already mentioned.
Cucurella was not going to begin the current season as a lock because of how severely he battled at Chelsea the previous year.
Last season, Jamie Carragher commented of one of Cucurella’s performances, “I wasn’t happy with Cucurella right throughout that second half until he came off.”
Overall, considering the possibility that he won’t play much at Stamford Bridge right now, Cucurella might have profited from a loan move to United or another team.
It could have been simpler for the former Brighton resident to restore his confidence in a different environment.
