Although Liverpool made significant improvements to their midfield over the summer, they were unable to find a suitable replacement for Fabinho, who served as both their primary DM and deep lying playmaker.

Wataru Endo, a holding midfielder from Japan, joined the team in the summer, although the seasoned player isn’t as reliable and adaptable as the Brazilian.

Therefore, the Reds must sign a new, young No. 6, and Aurelien Tchouameni’s name is once again in the spotlight.

Last year, the Anfield team was interested in acquiring him from AS Monaco, but he decided to go to Real Madrid instead. The Merseysiders were additionally mentioned in connection with the French international during the previous summer’s transfer window.

Now, Liverpool will go all out to sign the 23-year-old, who is unhappy at the Bernabeu after frequently being substituted out, claims Spanish source Todo Fichajes.

The midfielder, valued at £73.5 million, has only played the full 90 minutes on three occasions in his eight outings so far this season because boss Carlo Ancelotti prefers to start his favourite veterans, Kroos and Modric.

The media has reported that Tchouameni will be acquired by the Reds during the January transfer window because Klopp needs a capable player to fill the No. 6 spot.

Although the Spaniard hasn’t played a single minute this season due to injury, Thiago Alcantara is capable of playing in the deep-lying midfield position as well and is anticipated to leave on a free transfer next summer.

According to rumours, after Ancelotti leaves, the World Cup 2022 star may even think about taking a loan and returning to Madrid at the end of the season.

Should Liverpool finally offer £73.5 million to sign Aurelien Tchouameni, in your opinion?
