Manchester United encountered two new injury concerns following their Premier League victory against Southampton.

Matthijs de Ligt, Marcus Rashford, and Alejandro Garnacho each scored a goal at St Mary’s Stadium as the Reds comfortably secured the win over the Saints.

However, it wasn’t an ideal afternoon for United, as injury issues resurfaced once again.

During the win at Southampton, Lisandro Martinez and Noussair Mazraoui were seen limping off the field, and Erik ten Hag confirmed it was still too early to assess the extent of their injuries.

There was good news for De Ligt, though, who left the field due to cramps and is expected to recover.

Rasmus Hojlund, Luke Shaw, and Mason Mount are currently out with short-term injuries, and Ten Hag provided an update on their status after the match. “We need everyone’s presence and hope the players will return,” he explained.

“They won’t be available for the next game, but we’re hopeful they [Hojlund, Mount, and Shaw] will rejoin the team in the coming weeks.”

Victor Lindelof was expected to return to training with Manchester United this month after a toe injury, but so far, there is no sign of his comeback.

Tyrell Malacia missed all of last season due to an injury, but he was included in United’s Europa League squad last week.

Ten Hag confirmed he could resume training soon and may be available to play for the Reds in the near future.

Leny Yoro remains United’s only long-term injury concern, with his return expected toward the end of the season after being injured during pre-season.
