While Bayer Leverkusen’s Xabi Alonso is seen as the frontrunner to succeed Klopp at Liverpool due to his connection with Anfield, the Spanish coach’s future remains uncertain, especially if he achieves success with Leverkusen this season.
De Zerbi, who also garners significant interest, presents a compelling option for Liverpool. With prior experience in the Premier League and a personality suited for success akin to Klopp’s, he could seamlessly fit into the managerial role at Anfield.
