Liverpool has yet to make a move in the January transfer window for new signings, but one long-serving player now appears set to bid farewell to Anfield.
While the club loaned out several young talents last summer, such as Ben Doak, Stefan Bajcetic, and Lewis Koumas, and sold Fabio Carvalho and Sepp van den Berg, another academy graduate is now on the brink of a permanent exit.
Tom Hill to join Harrogate Town
According to Paul Gorst of the *Liverpool Echo*, Tom Hill is set to leave Liverpool and join Harrogate Town on an 18-month contract.
The 22-year-old, who joined Liverpool’s academy at the age of five, made his senior debut in the Carabao Cup against Aston Villa in December 2019.
Unfortunately, his career has been hindered by a severe knee injury that kept him sidelined for nearly two years.
Despite those setbacks, Hill featured in Liverpool’s 2022 pre-season campaign and was included in the Champions League squad this season, although he did not make any appearances.
Liverpool academy reporter Lewis Bower described Hill’s move to Harrogate as “a good move for all,” praising his tactical flexibility and value as a squad member.
With his Liverpool opportunities limited, the talented midfielder now seeks a fresh start in League Two, where he hopes to overcome past misfortunes and establish himself in senior football.
