According to reports from Italy, Thiago Alcantara, a midfield player for Liverpool, may be available for a trade next year to two Serie A clubs: Inter Milan and Juventus. The 32-year-old is a desirable signing for teams because his contract with Liverpool expires at the conclusion of this season and he could be signed for nothing.

Thiago is considered a technically skilled player by both Inter Milan and Juventus, who might get him without having to pay a transfer fee. Thiago hasn’t played in over six months and isn’t expected to return until the New Year, according to Jurgen Klopp, so a January transfer seems improbable. Because of the qualities he delivers when completely fit, the manager is also hesitant to sell him.

It comes as no surprise that teams are already considering Thiago for a possible free transfer. He is seen as one of Liverpool’s most talented players in spite of his injury difficulties. Jamie Carragher even referred to him as “possibly one of the best players in the Premier League” after one of his outstanding performances, which took place against Villarreal in the 2022 Champions League semi-finals, garnered him recognition.

Even though it seems probable that Thiago will leave LFC in 2024, Liverpool may be thinking about his injury history and high weekly salary of £200,000—the third-highest at LFC—when deciding how to proceed.

The supporters of Thiago are eager to witness more of his skill before he leaves the club, and his accomplishments may entice further teams to join Inter and Juventus in chasing what could be one of the smartest free transfer acquisitions of the upcoming season.

Pep Lijnders on Thiago:

"We miss Thiago. I miss him a lot. can you imagine our midfield, our new players and then Thiago Alcantara in the middle as well, guiding everyone? We hope to get him back soon." pic.twitter.com/DPYaO2Un88
