Only a few months after Roberto Firmino joined Al-Hilal from Liverpool, the forward is apparently prepared to be sold by the Saudi Arabian team.
As Firmino was only recently signed by the Middle Eastern club in the summer, TeamTalk claims that they are prepared to let go of the Brazilian international.
Acclaimed by Jurgen Klopp as a “world-class” player, Firmino became a Liverpool club icon this year after leading the Reds to the UEFA Champions League trophy in 2019 and the Premier League victory in 2020.
But since moving from Merseyside to Saudi Arabia, Firmino’s career has not gone as expected; the attacker is currently having a difficult time finding consistency in the Middle East.
Since the forward has only scored three goals in 13 games for Al-Hilal, Firmino may not be with the team come January.
If Firmino decides to return to Europe in 2024, there will undoubtedly be a lot of interest in him, and it’s possible that the Liverpool legend will return to the continent before he thinks. The possibility of Firmino’s leaving Al-Hilal favoring his career
Although many people weren’t convinced that a player of Firmino’s caliber would leave the Premier League for Saudi Arabia, it appears that a trip back to Europe is now feasible. Even though his time in Saudi Arabia wasn’t successful, the Brazilian attacker is obviously talented enough to play for one of the biggest teams in the world.
And if Al-Hilal were to truly sell Firmino, who undoubtedly has fans throughout Europe, making a Champions League comeback possible? “I wish he never left; I wish we could have him back,” was Klopp’s response upon hearing this news. That’s what I want.”
