Vinicius Jr., the Brazilian sensation for Real Madrid, was being courted by Manchester United, who even made an extremely generous contract offer. The 23-year-old winger, nevertheless, has chosen to stay with Los Blancos longer rather than accept a large salary offer from the English team.
Defensa Central says that Vinicius Jr. was making about 3 million euros a season at Real Madrid, but Manchester United was prepared to offer an incredible contract worth over 20 million euros a season, or £335,000. The Brazilian international did, however, choose to stay at the Bernabeu, signing a deal that would pay him 10 million euros a season.
Vinicius Jr. has made a name for himself as one of the world’s best attackers and has had incredible success with Real Madrid.
Notably, he beat Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League final in Paris last year with the game-winning goal. He made a substantial contribution to the 14-time European winners in the 2022–2023 season, with 23 goals and 21 assists across all competitions.
Under Carlo Ancelotti’s direction, the quick striker has already started nine games this season and directly contributed to six goals, three of which came via assists. His main job at Old Trafford is on the left wing, where Marcus Rashford also plays a major role. Rashford was a standout player for Manchester United the previous season.
Under Erik ten Hag, Vinicius Jr. would have surely strengthened Manchester United’s offensive, but the team’s defensive shortcomings continue to be its biggest worry. The defense needs to be strengthened as soon as possible during the forthcoming transfer window because the team has been letting goals in on a regular basis.
