When giving an update on Thiago’s health, Pepijn Lijnders acknowledged how much the Spanish player is missed by the team.
A hip injury that ended Thiago’s previous season early has kept him out of action since April. Regretfully, he hasn’t fully resumed training with the starting squad yet.
Lijnders discussed the importance of Thiago’s experience and abilities to the midfield as he discussed the effect of his absence.
He spoke highly of Thiago’s impact on the group and how much they both miss him when he’s not playing. They know his recuperation will take time, but they still hope to see him back soon.
Lijnders also mentioned that another midfielder from Spain, Stefan Bajcetic, is still sidelined following an adductor injury sustained in March. Positively, Curtis Jones has returned to action following a three-game suspension, and the team is happy to have him available.
