Pep Guardiola refused to be drawn into talk over a possible January move for Antoine Semenyo to Manchester City.

The City boss was just as tight-lipped when questioned about Oscar Bobb, who is said to be on the radar of Borussia Dortmund and other clubs.

Although reports claim Bournemouth and City are close to striking a deal for Semenyo — whose £65 million release clause can reportedly be activated between January 1 and January 10 — the transfer may not be as advanced as first believed.

Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola appeared to play down any imminent exit after the 2–2 draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday.

Semenyo even seemed to acknowledge the away supporters after his influential display, sparking speculation.

However, Iraola insisted the winger is still part of his plans.

“This is not his last game with us,” he said. “I can’t be absolutely certain, but I expect him to play again.

“He needs a bit of rest — we’ve had two very tough matches in three days. We now face Arsenal at home, another huge test against the league leaders, and he will be very important for us.”

Ahead of Thursday’s trip to Sunderland, Guardiola again avoided giving anything away about both Semenyo and Bobb, who has started only five league games this season.

“Whatever will be, will be,” he said.

“I don’t have any news. For me, the January transfer window is basically closed.”
