Following Chelsea’s ongoing struggles to score goals at home against Brentford, Joe Cole questioned Chelsea’s decision to allow Romelu Lukaku depart the team.

Two of the few players who might become available in the middle of the season are Brentford’s Ivan Toney and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen. However, Cole, a former Chelsea player, believes the squad had a trustworthy summer alternative at their disposal who was let go.
Lukaku left Italy in August and went on loan to Roma for the season. He later inked a £97 million agreement to rejoin Chelsea in 2021.
With eight goals in ten games for the Giallorossi, Cole is confused by some of the decisions made in west London.

Romelu Lukaku, for all his shortcomings, was in the door with him. Why could he not score goals at Chelsea while he was a good player at Inter Milan and had scored goals for Everton and West Brom in this country? What about him [was wrong]?
He is presently scoring goals for Roma. So, we need to go within and ask ourselves what is wrong with this club at the moment.
