Manchester City Legal Battle Could Take Years, CEO Warns

Manchester City’s long-running legal battle with the Premier League could continue for years, according to comments attributed to the club’s chief executive, Ferran Soriano.

Sky News reports that Soriano told fellow club executives that the dispute still has a considerable way to go.

He reportedly highlighted the fact that around eight years have passed since allegations concerning Manchester City were first raised.

The case has already become one of the most significant financial disputes in Premier League history.

Manchester City has faced 115 charges relating to alleged breaches of financial regulations and has consistently denied wrongdoing. The club has maintained that the Premier League process remains ongoing.

Recent reports have suggested that decisions have been reached on the charges, but the process is not necessarily finished.

Any sanctions would be determined separately, and Manchester City would have the opportunity to appeal.

City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak has also said that the Premier League process still has a long way to run and reiterated the club’s determination to defend its position.

For Manchester City, the uncertainty surrounding the case could therefore continue for some time, with further legal and regulatory steps potentially required before the dispute reaches its final conclusion.
