Chidi Dike, a rising star in Nollywood, has disclosed that he turned down a female producer’s approaches for a movie part.
Ike stated in a recent interview that he was turned down for a movie job early in his acting career because he refused to have sex with a well-known female producer, whose name he would not reveal.
“I believed that the industry exclusively exploited women. I thought it was funny that a reputable female film producer turned me down for a role because I wasn’t into it,” Dike said.
He claims that in spite of the myth that males are insatiably thirsty for sex, he has decided not to engage.
“I can’t go into such because I’m really young. Despite my gender, I firmly believe in abstinence. Being a virgin when I get married is one of my dreams. I’m picky about who I go to bed with. God grant me the strength,” he continued.
His breakthrough performance came from his part in the popular film “Better Half.”
Since then, he has starred in other Nollywood productions and is still a rising figure in the Nigerian film business.
