On the possibilities of Liverpool, Arsenal, and Man City winning the title, Peter Schmeichel is direct.

Peter Schmeichel, a former goalkeeper for Manchester United, thinks Liverpool aren’t prepared to fight with Manchester City this year.

So far in the new Premier League season, Jurgen Klopp’s team has been able to keep Pep Guardiola’s recent treble-winners in their sights. While their opponents have won each of the five games, the Reds have won four and drew once.

Anfield chiefs brought in four midfielders to bolster the team’s midfield as their main area of concentration throughout the summer window. In the meantime, City secured replacements for departing players at every position, notably the £90 million acquisition of Croatian defender Josko Gvardiol.

Schmeichel believes that as a result of their allegedly superior back line, the defending champions are currently still one step ahead of Liverpool.

“[Liverpool] can’t [keep up with Manchester City], in my opinion. The Danish analyst told the Premier League’s matchday live, “I don’t think [they can]. Arsenal “might” be the team, but that is a very big might.

We were just looking at that line-up today, and when you look at their back four, how are you going to compete with that? I don’t think anyone can stay with Man City. [Manuel] Akanji, [Kyle] Walker, [Ruben] Dias, and Gvardiol – With that, how can you compete?

You cannot match it, and Liverpool cannot match it for sure. I concur with you, Steve McManaman, they are incredibly exposed in the rear.

Alongside the veteran shot-stopper, ex-Red McManaman was serving as a commentator, criticizing Liverpool’s defense before Schmeichel delivered his frank assessment.

“When you see Liverpool play, it’s obvious that they will score goals because of the way they play. But they will give them up,” the former midfielder said.

“Because they are weak at the back, they will play entertaining, thrilling games.

There will be many ups and downs this season, so it will be exciting to watch Liverpool. They’re going to give up goals in plenty.

However, McManaman did note that Liverpool’s starting lineup is far stronger than it was at the beginning of the previous season because Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota have recovered from their protracted injuries.
