Takefusa Kubo is being considered by some Liverpool supporters as a possible Mohamed Salah replacement, especially in light of the latter’s outstanding showing against Real Madrid on September 17.

Over the previous six years, Mohamed Salah has established himself as one of the best wingers in the Premier League. In 310 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions, the Egyptian master has compiled an incredible tally of 188 goals and 83 assists, helping the Reds win seven major championships.

Al-Ittihad, the champions of the Saudi Pro League, showed substantial interest in Salah over the summer and even put forward a verbal offer of £150 million. All of their proposals, however, were turned down by Liverpool, ensuring that Salah would stay at Anfield for at least another season. However, some Liverpool supporters have the impression that Salah would eventually join the Saudi league.

In light of this, some Liverpool fans have already begun to consider Takefusa Kubo as a prospective successor. During Real Sociedad’s La Liga match against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu, the 22-year-old Japanese winger, who is currently at Real Sociedad, left quite an impression.

Ander Barrenetxea’s early goal, which gave Sociedad a startling lead in the fifth minute, was made possible in large part by Kubo. Despite the fact that Joselu and Fede Valverde’s goals gave Real Madrid a 2-1 victory in the end, Kubo’s play on the right wing stood out. He produced four scoring opportunities, displayed a pass accuracy of 88%, won seven duels, and kept a shooting accuracy of 100%.

Kubo’s performance has sparked debates over his credentials as a prospect to replace the vacuum left by the Egyptian superstar as Liverpool supporters examine the potential future without Salah. Check out his effort below against Real Madrid:
