Aaron Wan-Bissaka is expected to spend some time on the sidelines after getting hurt late in Saturday’s encounter against Brighton & Hove Albion.
After struggling with illness throughout the previous week, the right-back started the game on the bench and entered the game as a replacement in the 85th minute.
Wan-Bissaka’s absence will need to be assessed further to determine the exact length of time, although early signs point to several weeks.
In the first few weeks of the new season, United has struggled with injuries, especially in the defense. Before Wan-Bissaka’s setback, Luke Shaw, Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez, and Tyrell Malacia all sustained injuries.
Due to illness, Victor Lindelof was also forced to leave the game against Arsenal, and recent additions Mason Mount, Rasmus Hojlund, and Sofyan Amrabat have occasionally been absent.
The last three games have been missed by Mount, Hojlund’s debut was postponed due to a back issue, and Amrabat is yet to play after being sent on loan from Fiorentina with an injury. Mount played the first two games against Wolves and Tottenham.
Hojlund was also able to make his complete debut versus Brighton, and Martinez and Lindelof also began. Before the game, manager Erik ten Hag added that Mount and Varane will soon be available.
Both are “in a good place,” according to Ten Hag, who has also been without right wingers Jadon Sancho and Antony.
Sancho is training by himself after a falling out with Ten Hag, while Antony is on paid leave to fight accusations that he abused two women, which he vehemently denies.
