Former Liverpool player Takumi Minamino has found new life in the south of France. Although it was difficult for him to get used to the physicality of the Premier League, he left England with a Premier League championship medal. In particular, Minamino became Liverpool’s leading scorer during their successful league cup campaign in 2022.
The international player from Japan had a strong month at Monaco and was nominated for the Ligue 1 Player of the Month prize. The Premier League champion has scored three goals and sent out three assists in just five appearances in Ligue 1.
Monaco is currently in first place in Ligue 1, while Minamino is thriving under the direction of Adi Hütter, its new coach. The midfielder had previously received coaching from Hütter while playing for Salzburg in Austria.
“Since I was already familiar with his playing style, I immediately sought to implement it. Everyone seemed to have his own ideas. For instance, he always specifies his aims and end goal in his training schedules, he told L’Equipe through GFFN.
