Andy Robertson breaks his silence about transfer rumors involving Liverpool

Despite all the rumors regarding his future, Andy Robertson defended Mo Salah, his Liverpool teammate, claiming that he has been a “superb” player for the Reds.

He recorded two assists in a 3-1 comeback victory over Wolves at the Molineux, despite the Saudi Pro League making a late push for his services towards the end of the summer transfer window.

“I think he was superb on the pitch,” the Scotland international told TNT Sports, “and obviously there was a lot of talk outside it.” Now that it’s all over, I think he and the rest of us put in another strong effort in the second half. I initially thought that none of us were truly involved.

The Saudi squad undertook an audacious effort to lure the most well-known athlete in the Arabic world to the Middle East, and Al-Ittihad made a nine-figure offer for the 31-year-old.

Nevertheless, six goal contributions in five league outings this season seems to speak for itself.

The Liverpool forward demonstrated how crucial the match was to him by expressing his frustration at Darwin Nunez’s dropped ball during the second half of play, just when we needed him most.

It’s uncertain whether our No. 11 will continue to display his talents after the January or summer window of the next year.

He appears to be fully committed to the cause at Anfield for the time being, and what a cause it is—the Reds are now in first place in the standings.
