Liverpool fans blast ‘selfish’ Mohamed Salah after wasting key goal-scoring chances.

Liverpool fans are furious after Mohamed Salah’s frustrating display, accusing the forward of being “selfish” for missing two clear chances by refusing to pass to open teammates.

Despite his iconic status at Anfield, supporters took to social media to vent their anger, claiming Salah’s poor decision-making cost the team crucial goals in a tight game.

“Just leave, bro,” one fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “You’re not the same player anymore — it’s all about your stats now.” Another added, “Two golden chances and he still wouldn’t pass. Three teammates wide open, and he shoots from that angle? That’s not leadership — that’s selfishness.”

The incidents occurred when Salah broke through on goal twice, first ignoring Darwin Núñez and then Luis Díaz, opting to shoot on both occasions and missing each time. Fans were left fuming, saying his individualism has become a growing problem under Arne Slot.

Former Liverpool stars also weighed in. Graeme Souness said, “You can’t doubt Salah’s talent, but today he needed to think about the team — he got that completely wrong.”

Jamie Carragher added, “You can feel his frustration. He’s desperate to make something happen, but that desperation hurt Liverpool today.”

Reports suggest Slot plans to discuss the issue privately, though he publicly defended Salah, calling him “a world-class player who always wants to make the difference.”

While some fans defended the Egyptian — “He’s carried us for years, one bad game doesn’t change that” — others insisted no player is above the team. “We love Salah,” one fan said, “but football’s about teamwork, not ego.”

With key fixtures ahead, all eyes will be on how Salah responds. His legacy at Liverpool remains secure, but supporters are demanding he rediscover the balance between brilliance and selflessness.
