Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson has made a surprise exit this evening, sealing a move to a shock destination following the club’s acquisition of Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Gianluigi Donnarumma’s future at Paris Saint-Germain is growing increasingly uncertain after he was left out of the UEFA Super Cup squad against Tottenham, shortly after the club secured the signing of Lille goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier.

His omission has fueled speculation of a possible exit, with reports suggesting Manchester City have opened talks with the Italian shot-stopper.

Sources close to City indicate that the club has not ruled out a move for Donnarumma, particularly if Ederson decides to leave. Within PSG, there’s also a belief that Manchester City could be Donnarumma’s next destination, adding another layer of intrigue to the situation.

Though PSG offered Donnarumma a contract extension this summer, head coach Luis Enrique has expressed a preference for a “different profile” of goalkeeper, raising doubts about his long-term role at the Parc des Princes.

Donnarumma’s agent, Enzo Raiola, claims his client was even willing to take a pay cut to stay, but the club disputes this, insisting the deal would have still made him one of the world’s highest-paid keepers.

Both sides are reportedly open to a transfer that would allow PSG to recoup some of the costs from his free arrival four years ago.

Such a move would represent a pivotal moment in Donnarumma’s career, as his reputation and experience ensure he would command a significant fee.

Meanwhile, Ederson’s situation at Manchester City remains uncertain. While linked to Galatasaray, City are keen to keep him, given his vital role in their recent success.

However, with new arrivals like James Trafford and Marcus Bettinelli intensifying competition, and Stefan Ortega expected to depart, the goalkeeping department faces possible reshuffling.

Should Ederson move on, City would almost certainly need a replacement—potentially clearing the path for Donnarumma.

Although no direct talks have been confirmed between the Italian and the Premier League champions, the coming weeks before the transfer window closes could prove decisive in determining the futures of both keepers.
