Chelsea Monitoring Harvey Elliott as Brighton Lead Transfer Race
Chelsea are reportedly among the clubs monitoring Harvey Elliott’s situation at Liverpool, with the young midfielder potentially available for transfer this summer.
The 22-year-old England U21 international has struggled to cement a consistent starting role at Anfield. According to sources close to the agents’ circle, Elliott may be open to leaving Liverpool in search of more regular football.
Liverpool are said to be willing to part ways with Elliott if the right offer arrives, and are expected to demand around £50 million for the talented playmaker.
While Chelsea are keeping tabs on developments, Brighton & Hove Albion are currently showing the strongest interest, with multiple sources confirming they’ve made Elliott a top priority for the summer window.
One insider stated:
“Brighton’s interest is the most advanced. They’ve identified Elliott as their main target and are preparing a £40m bid.”
The source also added that Brighton are confident they can offer Elliott regular playing time — a key factor in the potential deal. Additionally, the presence of James Milner, Elliott’s former teammate at Liverpool, could help smooth the move.
Other clubs in the mix include Aston Villa, Newcastle United, and Borussia Dortmund, but Brighton are seen as the frontrunners at this stage.
Chelsea, however, remain a club to watch. Known for aggressively pursuing top young talent, the Blues may yet make a move for Elliott — though it’s uncertain whether Liverpool would be open to strengthening a domestic top-four rival.
Elliott could also face the same playing-time challenges at Chelsea that he currently deals with at Liverpool, whereas Brighton seem better positioned to offer him a prominent role.
