BREAKING: “I’d Prefer Being Seen as Disloyal Than Sitting on the Bench” – Konaté Makes Shocking Statement Amid Real Madrid Rumors.

Liverpool’s locker room has reportedly been shaken by an angry outburst from Ibrahima Konaté, as the French centre-back openly questioned his future at the club amid news of a potential major defensive signing.

In a blunt internal message, Konaté made it clear—if the club goes ahead with the deal, he will leave.

“I’ve given everything for this club—consistently and tirelessly—but it’s obvious I’m not appreciated here,” Konaté allegedly told his teammates.

“After all that, they still want to bring him in? Let’s be honest—he’s far better than me, and once he arrives, I’m going straight to the bench.”

The 25-year-old didn’t hold back. In a rare moment of frankness, he admitted that the arrival of the new star—still unnamed—would mark the end of his time at Anfield:

“I can’t just sit and watch myself get benched. Real Madrid wants me, and I won’t turn down such an opportunity. If that makes me disloyal like Trent, so be it. I’d rather be called unfaithful than stay here and waste away on the sidelines.”

His mention of Trent Alexander-Arnold, who recently surprised everyone by moving to Real Madrid, is especially significant.

Konaté appears ready to follow a similar route if Liverpool completes the rumored signing—believed to be a top-class centre-back, possibly from the Bundesliga or Serie A.

Konaté’s remarks have ignited heated debates on social media. Some fans have defended him, while others were blunt:

“If that’s who we’re signing next, Konaté, it’s better you leave—you’re not better than him at all,” one fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Meanwhile, many supporters are energized by the club’s ambition, urging the board to finalize the deal before pre-season begins:

“The fans want the club to get this last signing done. ”

Insiders say manager Arne Slot is determined to strengthen the squad across the board and isn’t afraid to stir competition.

But with Konaté’s confidence reportedly shaken and Real Madrid waiting in the wings, Liverpool could be facing another major departure—just weeks after losing a club legend.

One thing’s certain: tensions are rising at Anfield, and Konaté’s future is now very uncertain.
