Saturday Morning Transfer Breakthrough: Manchester United Finalizing Deal for World-Class Forward

A major transfer is nearing completion as Manchester United move closer to announcing the signing of Brazilian striker Matheus Cunha, who was recently spotted at a London airport with the club’s medical staff reportedly on standby.

According to Fabrizio Romano, United are preparing to release a video unveiling the new signing, sparking excitement among fans.

Cunha, who has previously impressed with standout performances—including one against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City—has agreed personal terms on a five-year deal with an option for a sixth.

Manchester United are set to activate his £62.5 million release clause from Wolverhampton Wanderers, with payment structured over three installments.

Cunha is expected to be Erik ten Hag’s first summer signing, with United pushing to complete the deal by the end of the week.

His addition is seen as a significant move, especially given his versatility across the front line, which aligns perfectly with the club’s attacking overhaul plans.

In addition to Cunha, United remain in talks for Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, who is valued at around £50 million after contributing 20 goals and seven assists last season.

Ipswich’s Liam Delap is also on their radar, though financial limitations may restrict how many attacking reinforcements United can afford.

Due to their failure to qualify for the Champions League—missing out on a potential £100 million windfall—United may need to offload players.

Captain Bruno Fernandes is reportedly considering a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal worth £200 million over three years, and the club may find a nine-figure bid difficult to decline.

Despite the financial constraints, United are prioritizing a refreshed attack and could also look to bolster their midfield and goalkeeper positions ahead of the new season.

Official confirmation of Cunha’s arrival is expected soon, marking the start of what could be a transformative summer at Old Trafford.
