Manchester United’s need for a clinical striker has become increasingly evident, given Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee’s modest goal returns this season.
Højlund has managed just eight goals, while Zirkzee has six, with the former only recently ending a lengthy Premier League goal drought and the latter more suited to an attacking midfield role.

Initially, reports suggested that United might offer Højlund as part of the deal, but The Athletic’s Laurie Whitwell has hinted at another possibility—Alejandro Garnacho.
The Argentine winger was a target for Napoli in January, but the Italian club balked at United’s €70 million valuation.
However, with Antonio Conte still seeking a replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Garnacho could be included in a player-plus-cash offer to land Osimhen.
While Garnacho recently ended his goal drought against Leicester, his finishing and attitude have come under scrutiny.
Amorim previously fought to keep him at the club during the winter window, but with the summer approaching, United’s stance could shift.
