Liverpool Eyeing a New Striker to Replace Struggling Darwin Nunez

Liverpool are set to enter the summer transfer window in search of a new striker to address their attacking struggles and replace Darwin Nunez, who has failed to deliver consistently.

With Mohamed Salah carrying the team’s goal-scoring burden this season, Liverpool have struggled whenever he has been off form, as their other forwards have failed to step up.

Nunez, Luis Diaz, and Diogo Jota have all underperformed, leaving the Reds in need of attacking reinforcements.

Liverpool Rule Out Move for Julian Alvarez

Recent reports linked Liverpool with a move for Julian Alvarez, who has been thriving under Diego Simeone at Atletico Madrid.

The 25-year-old forward has been in sensational form, scoring 23 goals and providing five assists in 44 appearances this season.

However, according to Football Insider, Arne Slot’s side have decided against pursuing Alvarez, despite previously holding an interest in the former Manchester City man.

Atletico Madrid paid over 80 million pounds for him last summer, and Liverpool are unwilling to match that price tag.

Liverpool Exploring Cheaper Striking Options

With Liverpool’s recent goal-scoring struggles leading to their Champions League exit and Carabao Cup final defeat to Newcastle United, strengthening the attack is a top priority.

While Alexander Isak would be an ideal signing, Liverpool are looking for more affordable alternatives, with Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap emerging as a possible target.

Additionally, with speculation growing over Salah’s future, Liverpool are also working on securing a replacement in case the Egyptian star departs at the end of the season.
