Ben Doak Could Miss the Rest of the Season Due to Injury

It’s been a difficult week for Liverpool fans, and the bad news may not be over yet, with another potential setback—this time in the form of an injury blow to Ben Doak.

As reported by The Northern Echo, Michael Carrick addressed Doak’s chances of playing again this season, stating: “It could go both ways.

We’re obviously in touch with Liverpool. He’s back there now, so we’ll stay in contact. Without jumping to conclusions, we’ll just take things as they come.”

This is a tough setback for the 19-year-old winger, who has impressed during his loan spell at Middlesbrough, scoring three goals and providing seven assists in 24 appearances.

While his season isn’t officially over yet, there is growing concern that he may not return to action before the campaign ends.

Teammate Tommy Conway has praised Doak’s confidence and impact since arriving in the northeast, and his performances have certainly turned heads.

With speculation about a potential attacking overhaul at Liverpool this summer, there could be an opening for Doak to earn game time under Arne Slot next season.

However, injuries have already disrupted the former Celtic starlet’s career, which is a cause for concern. Middlesbrough had initially hoped he would return to training weeks ago, but his recovery has taken longer than expected.

As the season nears its conclusion, Doak’s priority should be focusing on getting fully fit for pre-season, ensuring he’s ready to fight for a future at Anfield.
