Barcelona are reportedly considering a move for Liverpool star Mohamed Salah, who could become a free agent at the end of the season.
Despite being 32 and navigating a managerial change at Liverpool, Salah has been in exceptional form during the 2024/25 campaign, contributing 16 goal involvements in 15 appearances across all competitions.
According to *SPORT*, Salah’s name has resurfaced in discussions among Barcelona officials, who had previously shown interest in him in 2022. At the time, a move didn’t materialize due to Liverpool’s high asking price and Salah’s wage demands.
While Nico Williams remains Barcelona’s top target for a new wide forward, Salah’s potential availability on a free transfer could present an appealing alternative if he chooses not to renew his contract with Liverpool.
The report also claims Salah is open to a move to Barcelona and “likes Barca,” although Liverpool are eager to secure a new deal to keep him at Anfield.
Meanwhile, interest from the Saudi Pro League continues to loom, ensuring Salah will have multiple options as the summer approaches.
Salah has yet to make a definitive decision about his future. Reflecting on scoring the winner against Brighton, he said, “No matter what happens, I will never forget what scoring at Anfield feels like.”
Liverpool manager Arne Slot recently likened Salah to Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, praising his consistent output well into his thirties.
“There’s no sign of him dropping in level,” Slot said. “Look at his numbers and performances. I can’t predict the future, but look at Ronaldo and Messi—still incredible at their ages.”
