Manchester City’s struggles continued as they failed to hold onto their lead, falling to a dramatic 2-1 defeat against Manchester United in the derby.

Despite a generally uninspiring performance from both sides, City initially went ahead just before halftime with a header from Josko Gvardiol.

However, City’s late collapse was stunning. A costly error by Matheus Nunes led to Bruno Fernandes equalizing from the penalty spot in the 88th minute, and just two minutes later, Amad Diallo secured United’s victory with a decisive goal.

The reaction from City’s players spoke volumes. Some left the pitch quickly, while others lingered in disbelief over the sudden collapse.

Gvardiol and Erling Haaland were the last to leave, acknowledging the small group of City supporters who remained.

The defeat has intensified concerns about City’s form, with the team appearing disjointed and demoralized.

Haaland looked visibly shaken, while the squad’s body language reflected growing frustration. This latest loss raises further questions about their recent struggles.

During a break in play, Pep Guardiola was seen in an animated discussion with Jeremy Doku, highlighting his dissatisfaction with the winger’s decision-making—an issue symbolic of City’s broader inconsistencies.

Interestingly, Haaland appeared to embrace a leadership role, showing vocal authority during the pre-match huddle and his interactions with teammates throughout the game.

In the directors’ box, a cordial exchange took place between United and City officials, including Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Khaldoon Al Mubarak.

Notably, City’s team bus arrived later than usual, sparking speculation that Guardiola is experimenting with new approaches to revive his team’s fortunes.
