Liverpool are expected to be without Federico Chiesa for their match against Crystal Palace on Saturday.
The Reds will travel to London for the Premier League’s early kick-off, with Arne Slot continuing his smooth transition since taking over after Jurgen Klopp’s departure last season.
Slot has guided Liverpool to the top of the table with 15 points and will look to extend their unbeaten run to six games against Oliver Glasner’s Palace.
However, summer signing Chiesa, who joined Liverpool for £12.5 million from Juventus, is unlikely to be available due to injury.
Slot confirmed the news, saying, “He hasn’t trained the last few days. Still a doubt to face Crystal Palace,” in an interview with Hayters TV’s Nazira Yusuf.
Chiesa’s injury will be concerning for fans, as they were aware of the risk when signing him, given his poor injury history, including an ACL tear that kept him sidelined for nearly a year at Juventus.
Despite this, Slot is expected to leave him out of the squad for the Palace game but hopes to have him fit for the clash against Chelsea after the international break.
