On the bright side, Alisson Becker has returned to the starting lineup, as expected following Arne Slot’s pre-match press conference.
Liverpool could move to the top of the table with a win at Molineux, after Manchester City’s 1-1 draw with Newcastle United earlier today.
Nunez has contributed two goals or assists in six appearances across all competitions this season.
The fact that Slot’s team can cope without their No.9 reflects the squad’s impressive depth, especially in the forward line.
While it’s unfortunate that the Uruguayan international won’t have the chance to continue his streak of goal contributions, it presents a great opportunity for Diogo Jota to step up.
With the October international break approaching after their game against Crystal Palace, Jota will have the perfect chance to embark on one of his signature scoring runs.
Statistically, Wolves may be facing a tough challenge against Liverpool. Jota, a former Wolves player, has only two goal contributions in the Premier League this season, but he should have plenty of opportunities to add to his tally today.
