Pep Guardiola will be concerned after seeing his top holding midfielder, Rodri, limp off with a serious knee injury during Manchester City’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal.

Further tests will clarify the injury timeline, but it’s likely the Spanish international will miss the rest of the season, as reported by David Ornstein and Fabrizio Romano on X.

Gary Lineker also commented on Liverpool’s start under new manager Arne Slot.

Rodri’s injury could significantly impact both Liverpool and Arsenal’s title chances. Opta Analyst’s data shows that without the 28-year-old, City’s loss rate rises from 10.9% to 33.3%.

This opens up the title race for Mikel Arteta and possibly Arne Slot. While Slot is not expected to win the title in his first season, Rodri’s absence adds intrigue to the competition.
