David de Gea, former Manchester United goalkeeper, has decided on his football future after leaving Old Trafford last year.
After being released by the club and replaced by Andre Onana, the Spanish goalkeeper took a year off to contemplate his next steps.
De Gea, who joined United from Atletico Madrid for €25 million in 2011, spent 12 years at the club.
During his time there, he achieved a 35% clean sheet rate, with 190 clean sheets in 545 appearances, setting a club record.
His impressive performance helped United win the Premier League in 2012/13, the FA Cup in 2016, the Europa League in 2016/17, two Carabao Cups, and three Community Shields. He also earned 45 caps for Spain, being their first-choice goalkeeper.
Though he considered retirement after leaving United, De Gea hinted on social media that he will soon announce his next move.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, De Gea is in discussions with Serie A club Genoa, while The Athletic reports that he has received offers to return to the Premier League, which he is not inclined to accept after over a decade in England.
