Former Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea is making a dramatic comeback to football by signing with an unexpected club.

Former Spanish international and Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea hasn’t played competitive football in nearly a year.

Offers that came his way around this time last year, when it became clear he was no longer needed at Manchester United, were evidently not acceptable to the 33-year-old.

Erik ten Hag, who planned to install his own choice, Andre Onana, as goalkeeper at Manchester United, dismissed De Gea, but the Spaniard seemed to take the rejection well.

David de Gea might finally be moving to Saudi Arabia.

Although he could have publicly criticized the club after many years of excellent service, De Gea’s silence at the time spoke volumes about his character.

However, as months passed, his chances of returning to professional football seemed to diminish.

It’s believed he has stayed fit and active during his year-long absence from a club, and journalist Rudy Galetti suggests he may be nearing the end of his time away from football.

Al Shabab and another club are reportedly interested in signing him.

With the new season starting in August, it’s in the goalkeeper’s best interest to finalize his future plans soon rather than delay any longer.

Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see if any other European teams make a final attempt to keep him on the continent.
