Bayern Munich is reportedly in talks with AC Milan’s Theo Hernandez as a potential backup plan in case they need to find a replacement for left-back Alphonso Davies, whose contract with the Allianz Arena ends in 2025.

Negotiations for Davies’ contract extension have hit a snag, raising the possibility of his departure on a free transfer next year, sparking rumors of a potential move this summer.

Speculation has linked Davies with a transfer to Real Madrid, prompting Bayern to consider Hernandez as a contingency option.

The 26-year-old, whose brother Lucas has previously played for Bayern, is reportedly open to joining the club, although Milan is expected to demand €60 million for his services.

Bayern’s pursuit of Hernandez depends on Davies’ potential departure, and the final decision rests with their new head coach, who will also have the authority to veto any deal for the French full-back.

As Bayern continues its search for a successor to Thomas Tuchel, setbacks have arisen, with Austria boss Ralf Rangnick declining an offer, and former manager Hansi Flick now reportedly on the shortlist.

Despite speculation about Davies moving to Madrid, doubts have emerged in the Spanish press due to Bayern’s high asking price, leading Real Madrid to consider postponing any transfer and potentially pursuing a pre-contract agreement next season.

In a recent Champions League match against Madrid, Davies displayed his versatility by playing as a winger and made a significant impact by scoring a remarkable goal off the bench.

However, Bayern ultimately suffered defeat, ensuring that they would end the season without winning any silverware for the first time since 2012.
