Liverpool invested £450m in new signings last summer as Arne Slot and sporting director Richard Hughes looked to defend their Premier League crown.
Big-money arrivals included Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak, both signed for record-breaking fees, while Hugo Ekitike was also brought in as part of a major rebuild of the attack.
To make room for the new additions, several forwards moved on, including Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz and Ben Gannon-Doak. Those exits helped Liverpool raise close to £200m in sales. However, there are signs that more changes could be coming.
More new signings are expected next summer. Jeremy Jacquet has already been secured, and a new winger is also set to arrive.
To create space, more current players may have to leave. Names such as Ibrahima Konate, Andy Robertson, Curtis Jones and even Mohamed Salah have been mentioned as possible departures as Slot and Hughes continue reshaping the squad.
One player who could finally leave after several transfer windows of speculation is Federico Chiesa.
The 28-year-old joined Liverpool from Juventus in September 2024 for an initial £10m fee. Although he was part of the squad that won the league, Chiesa has struggled to make an impact and has not fully convinced Slot.
Juventus tried to re-sign him in January, but talks collapsed because Liverpool wanted a permanent deal rather than a loan.
A new report from Caught Offside claims Juventus, Napoli and Roma are all interested in signing the Italian winger this summer.
Liverpool are in a strong position as Chiesa is under contract until 2028. Selling him for a high fee would also mean a significant profit.
However, Hughes will need to be careful not to set the price too high, especially considering Chiesa earns £150,000 per week and has made just three Premier League starts under Slot since arriving.
His limited impact at Anfield may make it difficult to attract huge offers, meaning Liverpool could have to lower their demands.
According to the report, Liverpool are now asking for between £21m and £26m for Chiesa. The club are said to be open to selling him due to concerns about whether he can adapt fully to the pace of the Premier League, while several Serie A clubs are already preparing their moves.
