Additionally, United has engaged in discussions with Todibo’s representatives, and these talks were described as “productive.” Any potential move for Todibo would hinge upon Maguire’s departure from the club.
If Maguire decides to leave, Manchester United might pursue Todibo.
Negotiations between West Ham and United for Maguire are ongoing. West Ham has offered £30 million, and there’s a possibility of an agreement being reached for £35 million.
However, finalizing the deal remains challenging as United would also need to cover Maguire’s wages. If he agrees to a substantial pay cut at West Ham, the club will need to provide a significant payout.
Todibo has been a target for Manchester United for an extended period, with their interest dating back to 2019. The 23-year-old defender has shown significant development, earning his first call-up to the French national team in March.
Todibo’s potential addition would be an upgrade over Maguire. He is a skilled center back known for his adept ball-playing abilities. Last season in Ligue 1, he boasted an 89 percent passing accuracy, completed an average of 57 passes per game, succeeded in 65 percent of his duels, made 1.2 interceptions, 2.2 tackles, and 3.1 clearances.
Adapting to the demands of the Premier League is anticipated to pose minimal challenge for him. A possible deal might materialize if Manchester United can come close to Nice’s asking price of approximately €45 million (£39 million), contingent on Maguire’s departure.
